Managing Your Data in InexTrack

At InexTrack, we believe in giving you full control over your data. This page explains how you can delete specific data from the app, what happens to that data when deleted, and how to get help if needed.
Deleting Specific Data Within the App
Deleting Individual Records
- Open the InexTrack app and navigate to the "Records" tab.
- Find and tap on the receipt you wish to delete.
- Tap the trash icon (🗑️) in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Confirm your choice in the deletion confirmation dialog.
Deleting Budget Items
- Open the InexTrack app and navigate to the "Budgets" tab.
- Find the budget category you wish to delete.
- Swipe left on the budget item and tap "Delete".
- Alternatively, tap "Edit" at the top of the screen, then tap the red "−" icon next to the budget item, followed by "Delete".
What Happens When Data is Deleted
When you delete data from InexTrack, different types of data are handled in different ways:
Receipt Data
- Receipt Images: When you delete a receipt, the associated image is permanently deleted from our storage systems. These images cannot be recovered after deletion.
- Receipt Information: The text data associated with the receipt (such as merchant name, amount, date, categories, and other details) is marked as "deleted" in our database. This means:
- The data will no longer be visible to you in the app.
- It will not be included in any reports or calculations.
- It will not be synced from the cloud to your devices.
This marked textual data is retained in our database until you choose to delete your entire InexTrack account, at which point it will be permanently deleted along with all other account data.
Budget Data
Deleted budget data is immediately removed from active use in the app but may be retained in our backup systems for a limited period. This data is not visible to you after deletion and is not used in any calculations.
Note on Data Retention: Some data may be retained in our secure backup systems for a limited time after deletion, typically no longer than 90 days. This is for disaster recovery purposes. These backups are not used for any purpose other than system restoration in case of data loss.
Getting Help with Data Deletion
If you encounter any issues deleting your data through the app, or have specific data deletion requests that cannot be addressed through the app's built-in features, we're here to help.
Contact Support for Data Deletion Assistance
Please email us at [email protected] with the subject line "InexTrack Data Deletion Request" and include:
- The email address associated with your InexTrack account
- A description of the specific data you wish to have deleted
- Any issues you've encountered when trying to delete the data yourself
We'll respond to your request within 5 business days.
